Statement
Isaac Kairouz employs a practice-led creative research methodology to interrogate intersectional experiences and queer identity construction. Isaac’s research consists of a large amount of diverse artworks which ultimately constitute playful installation-based experiences. This work examines the interplay between technology and queered processes of identity construction. Their creative research operates at the nexus of spatial practice, play and fantasy; in doing so, recontextualises intersectional experience within a fine art environment and discourse. Isaac’s installations are presented in an accessible manner, allowing the audience to relinquish reasonable thought and engage with an outlandish fantasy narrative presented in a naïve playful environment. By drawing upon theoretical research and the artist’s lived experience, Isaac’s work engages culturally and socially, advocating for queer representation and intersectional experiences.
